Gill Landry, record release show

$24.00

Fri Jun 7th, 8:00 pm

Gill Landry is a two-time Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist. A Louisiana native, Gill began honing his craft while living out of a van as a busker on the streets of New Orleans. After immersing himself in the rich tapestry of American folk music, in 2004, he joined the Nashville outfit Old Crow Medicine Show, with whom he worked from their van-and-trailer days to festival main stages, Grammy wins, and their induction into the Grand Ole Opry. In 2015, he parted ways with the band, dedicating himself entirely to his writing and solo creative pursuits.

Gill has released six solo albums on various record labels since 2007. His writing consistently reveals profound, honest, and insightful explorations of the vicissitudes of life from a man who’s lived an interesting one. Each album is a testament to his versatility and abilities as an adept and creative songwriter and storyteller who’s in it for the long haul. He crafts his songs not as a product/brand but with an ever-evolving voice of his own, with albums that often feel both perennial and new. The musical styles on his records can range widely from the cinematic to deeply intimate and are often accompanied by a creme de la creme of his musician friends.

A seasoned road dog, Gill has played countless shows at home and abroad and shared stages with an eclectic array of artists and friends over the years, including Laura Marling, Justin Townes Earle, Brandi Carlile, The Felice Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Ben Harper, Michael Hurley, Bruce Hornsby, Warren Haynes, Andre Williams, Nathaniel Rateliff, to mention a few.

Gill’s latest album, ‘Cinnamon Canyon Blues,’ which was produced in London with his friend Ted Dwane of Mumford and Sons, will be released in June 2024.
