Dead Rock West
Led by vocalist Cindy Wasserman and singer and guitarist Frank Lee Drennen, Dead Rock West specialize in a kind of jangly west coast alt country that slides into pop and punk territory at times, a bit like a clever cross between the Gram Parsons version of the Byrds and L.A.’s X.
The Brothers Figaro
Bill Bonk and Phil Parlapiano are well known songwriter/side musicians, having toured with John Prine, Rod Stewart, Tracy Chapman, Susanna Hoffs, Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Buffalo and many more. You’ve seen Phil on Titanic, Barry and New Girl, and heard Bill’s solo work on Alias, Felicity and Dawson’s Creek.
It all started with The Brothers Figaro and their critically acclaimed Geffen release “Gypsy Beat.” The free-wheeling Brothers will be making a rare concert appearance.
In 1992 John Prine said in Rolling Stone: “These guys [Bill Bonk and Phil Parlapiano of The Brothers Figaro] are so good they could win anyone over.”
