BILL CHAMPLIN & TAMARA CHAMPLIN

Bill Champlin, a three-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter, singer, and keyboardist, began his career with the renowned San Francisco group, The Sons of Champlin. The band released six albums. Following the group’s dissolution, Bill relocated to Los Angeles where he became a highly sought-after session vocalist, collaborating with prominent artists such as Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls, Elton John, Boz Scaggs, Donna Summer, Nancy Wilson, and George Benson among others. He launched his solo career in the late 1970s, earning his first Grammy for co-writing “After The Love is Gone,” later popularized by Earth, Wind & Fire.

In 1982, Bill joined Chicago to record “Chicago 16.” His distinctive vocals are featured on “Hard Habit to Break” from Chicago 17. In 1988, his rendition of “In the Heat of the Night” was selected as the theme for the television series of the same name. He also provided lead vocals for Chicago’s chart-topping single “Look Away.” After 28 years with Chicago and following the U.S. release of his acclaimed solo album “No Place Left To Fall,” Bill elected to focus exclusively on his solo endeavors.

Tamara Champlin is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter whose compositions have been recorded by Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Peter Cetera, Rita Coolidge, and others. She has collaborated with artists including Ambrosia and Elton John. Tamara’s film credits feature lead vocals on “Heart of Glass” (co-written with Bill Champlin and Bruce Gaitsch) from *Caddyshack II*; contributions to the Rob Lowe film *Illegally Yours*, including the song “Who Wins”; and performances in the Jim Carrey movie *Copper Mountain*. Her background vocal roles include being a regular on Alan Thicke’s “Thicke of the Night” and participating in Atlantic Records’ 40th Anniversary celebration.

Together, Bill and Tamara Champlin have performed across Japan, Europe, the United States, and Central and South America as an acoustic duo. They have supported the Lone Wolf Entertainment Foundation and rejoined the Sons of Champlin for select performances. Both continue to perform extensively, with Tamara releasing much of her previously unavailable catalog digitally, and unveiling a new single “Super Flower Moon,” composed with Michael Caruso in 2023.
