Since Dr. Molly Miller picked up the guitar at age seven, she’s been captivating audiences with her sophisticated and raw style. She’s one of Los Angeles’s most sought-after musicians, recording and touring with artists such as Jason Mraz, Zayn Malik (One Direction), and Sin Bandera, at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, and Coachella.

Miller heads her own guitar trio, Molly Miller Trio, delivering groove-driven Americana Jazz. Their music has been showcased on NPR’s Fresh Air and their 2024 release The Ballad of Hotspur was featured in major outlets such as Guitar Player, Guitar World, Fretboard Journal, and Vintage Guitar. Molly Miller Trio has opened for Jason Mraz and Buddy Guy. They have performed at iconic spaces such as Monterey Jazz Festival, Dimitri’s Jazz Alley, Dizzy’s at Lincoln Center, and SF Jazz.

Soon after earning her Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Southern California in 2016, she became the chair of the Guitar Department at Los Angeles College of Music. She returned to her alma mater, USC, as a Professor of Studio Guitar in 2022.

Las Vegas–based singer-songwriter Ted Sablay has been touring guitarist for The Killers since 2006 and the band's musical director since 2022. State & Motion, his second full-length album, follows 2022's You'll Be Back Here Soon. It's ten songs and 38 minutes, with Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello) on drums and Whynot Jansveld (The Wallflowers) on bass. "This record is, fundamentally, about the difference between bearing something and choosing something," Sablay says.

The questions behind it surfaced during the pandemic shutdown. "Who am I if I'm not onstage?" he asks. The songs took shape after an opening slot for Chris Isaak, and he wrote them to stand on their own: "Whatever I do, I want to be able to play it on an acoustic guitar and make it work." At McCabe's, that's exactly how you'll hear them.

Peter Bradley Adams introduced himself as a member of Eastmountainsouth, the duo he put together with fellow songwriter and vocalist Kat Maslich-Bode. The demos the duo made, produced by Adams, blended pop and folk with subtle electronic touches, making it a pioneering effort in the realm of folktronica with a satisfying blend of ancient folklore and modern technology. Robbie Robertson (of The Band) signed Eastmountainsouth to DreamWorks, but a major label shake up led to the band’s demise.

Adams launched his solo career with Gather Up (2006), a brooding, autumnal album recorded in his apartment. Its hushed melancholy won rave reviews and led to Leavetaking (2008), an understated folk rock album that featured the hit “The Longer I Run”, followed by Traces (2009), and Between Us (2011), collectively selling over 275,000 single downloads. Adams continues his introspective explorations of the middle ground between hope and heartache on The Mighty Storm.

First brought together by Brooklyn’s tight-knit old-time music community in 2017, Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman share a rich musical partnership. Nora is a banjo player, and has released 3 albums on Brooklyn based Jalopy Records. She has performed across the US, Europe, and Japan including on NPR’s Tiny Desk and TED EDU. Stephanie is a master old-time fiddler, having recorded and toured internationally with celebrated artists such as trailblazing
all-women stringband Uncle Earl, Rhiannon Giddens, Watchhouse’s Andrew Marlin, and Aoife O’Donovan.

In July 2023, Nora and Stephanie released their debut EP Lady of the Lake on Jalopy Records. The release was followed by a duo performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Folk Radio UK wrote that the EP “leaves you wanting more,” continuing, “There is a shrewd exuberance in the way Nora and Stephanie play together on this EP, taking turns to lead and leaving plenty of space for each other to shine. They play with consistent flair and an audible mastery of their
instruments.” Nora and Stephanie previously recorded together on Nora’s 2019 album Cinnamon Tree, and have performed at such renowned venues as The Kennedy Center, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and the Cambridge Folk Festival in the UK.

Gill Landry is a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and former member of Old Crow Medicine Show. Over the course of six solo albums, Landry has developed a body of original work rooted in American folk, country, blues, and the darker corners of the singer-songwriter tradition, marked by outcast characters, restless travel, and a dry, unsentimental lyricism. A Louisiana native and longtime road musician, he has spent more than two decades performing across the United States and Europe. His most recent album, Cinnamon Canyon Blues, was recorded in London and released in 2024.

Kiki Cavazos is a Montana-born songwriter whose life has followed the same restless roads that run through her songs. After leaving home young, she traveled through Alaska and Mexico before landing in New Orleans, where she formed Sundown with Alynda Lee Segarra of Hurray for the Riff Raff and Sam Doores of The Deslondes. Her spare, deeply lived-in songs draw on heartbreak, wandering, mountains, trains and the disappearing American West, earning comparisons to Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley and Lucinda Williams. Cavazos has appeared at Newport Folk Festival and opened for Big Thief and The Deslondes. Her 2026 albumGoodbye Blues, produced by Doores and released by Jalopy Records, captures her at her most elemental, with little more than acoustic guitar, voice and songs that feel less written than survived.
